Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) March 15, 2024, issued the Draft Revision to Civil Aviation Requirements Section 7 Series D Part VI - Flight Simulation Training Device Initial and Continuing Qualification.

The following has been specifies namely:-

•It specifies that the advancement of technology has led to increased utilization of Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTD) for flight crew training, offering comprehensive training comparable to actual flights.

•It has permitted the use of aircraft flight simulators for various training purposes, acknowledging their role in meeting flight training requirements for license issuance and renewal.

•It also states that the simulators shall be evaluated by a DGCA team and operator representatives per OC 15 of 2014, and upon approval, DGCA grants a certificate confirming qualification level.

•It mentions that the simulators shall also be evaluated according to the Qualification Test Guide (QTG) or Master Qualification Test Guide (MQTG) by a DGCA-appointed team, including a Flight Operations Inspector (FOI) trained for FFS/FTD evaluation and one FOI type rated and current on the aircraft.
