EHS ComplianceThe Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) on February 27, 2024, issued certain directions for effective compliance through self-regulatory mechanism, to all industries/establishments/hotels.

The following directions are as stated:

• Installation of Online Continuous Stack Emission Monitoring System (OCEMS) and Continuous Ambient Air Monitoring station in steel plants in Red & Orange Category industry /sector specific parameters mentioned in Consent by June 30, 2024

• The Industries /establishments/hotels/common STPs/ Commercial Establishments/ Residential complexes, Educational Institutions having ETP's of 50 KLD and above capacity, STPs of 100 KLD and above capacity to install online water quality monitoring system.

• The online monitoring system shall monitor the consented parameters.

• To connect and upload the online emission and effluent monitoring data at SPCBs/PCC's and CPCB server in a time bound manner but not later than June 30, 2024 in consultation with the Board.

• To ensure regular maintenance and operation of the online system with temper proof mechanism having facilities for online calibration.

To install the OCEMS-AIR/WATER by the procedure and OCEMS guidelines as per July & August 2018 as recommended by CPCВ.

In view of the above all concerned industries are hereby directed to ensure the installation of OCEMS within timelines of the GSPCB.
