The Government of Goa on March 15, 2024, issued the Goa Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024, to further amend the Goa Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2019.
The following amendments have been stated:
• After section 20, which states “Time limit for provisional registration”, the following section shall be inserted, namely:
“20A. Extension of time limit for provisional registration:
o Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act or any other law for the time being in force, the provisional registration granted under this Act in the past which has lapsed or which is subsisting shall stand revived or extended and shall be deemed to be valid for a period of 1 year from March 15, 2024.
o Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act or any other law for the time being in force, the clinical establishments who have not obtained provisional or permanent registration under this Act shall be entitled to apply and obtain permanent registration under this Act within 1 year from March 15, 2024.”
• In section 47, which states “Power to make rules”, sub-section (3) shall be omitted.
This notification will come into force from March 15, 2024.
