Commercial ComplianceThe Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on March 18, 2024, issued an advisory related to the Implementation of Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, pertaining to the assignment of BH series registration mark to vehicles registered in regular series-reg.

This is in reference to the Notification No. G.S.R. 879 (E) dated December 14, 2022, related to the extension of the provision of Bharat ("BH") series registration mark for motor vehicles already registered in "regular series", provided that the owner thereof is eligible to obtain the BH Series registration mark.

The following has been stated:

• It has advised to implement sub-rule (4) of Rule 51B, which states “Size of letters and numerals of the registration mark”, of Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, in letter and spirit and assign the BH Series registration mark to eligible applicants (i.e. employees) seeking registration of their vehicles registered in regular series.
