Labour ComplianceThe University Grants Commission (UGC) on March 19, 2024, issued the Accessibility Guidelines and Standards for Higher Education Institutions and Universities with the aim to improve the participation and learning experiences of persons with disabilities in HEIs and also to achieve the goals of NEP 2020

The following has been stated namely: -

•it states that the HEIs need to create a common learning platform that is flexible and accessible for all the students to learn together including those from varied backgrounds and diverse abilities. Such an inclusive environment benefits not only the learners but also forms a strong foundation of social inclusion and accessible environments as a whole.

•it specifies that the universities and HEIs shall be required to design accessible and inclusive curricula in view of the specific needs of persons with disabilities. Considerations while designing and developing programs/courses must include support provisions in Curricular Aspects that address specific needs at the level of Curricular Design and Development; Curricular Planning and Implementation; Academic Flexibility; Curriculum Enrichment; and Feedback Systems
