The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJ&E) on March 18, 2024, issued the Draft Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2024, to further amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017.
This shall come into force on March 19, 2024.
The following has been amended namely: -
• In rule 15 (1) (o), which states the rules for accessibility for the establishments, it has added a new clause which states Rule 15 (1) (p) – “Accessibility standards and guidelines for Banking Sector as specified in the notification of the Department of Financial Service, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, vide notification number F. No.7/32/2022-BOA-I, dated the 02nd February 2024”.
