Labour ComplianceThe UT Administrator of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu on February 05, 2024, issued the Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2023, to further amend the Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2021.

This shall come into force on March 15, 2024.

The following has been amended namely: -

• It specifies that a new “Chapter VIII A” shall be inserted after Chapter VIII, which states that UT Administration shall notify the designated authority for high support requirement applications.

• It mentions that only individuals with permanent disability certificates shall be eligible to apply for high support requirements.

• It states that the UT Administration shall establish “District-level Assessment Boards” based on the number of persons with benchmark disabilities.

• It specifies the Assessment Board shall provide recommendations to the designated authority within 90 days of receiving an assessment request. 

• It also specifies the authority to consider high-support requirement applications based on the recommendations and relevant UT Administration schemes.
