The National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) on March 19, 2024, notified the National Commission for Homoeopathy (Homoeopathy Post-Graduate Degree Course- Doctor of Medicine in Homoeopathy) Regulations, 2024 in supersession of the Homoeopathy (Post Graduate Degree Course) M.D.(Hom.) Regulations, 1989.
The following has been stated: -
•Some of the objectives of the homeopathy post-graduate training programme are as follows, namely: –
(a)recognize the importance of Homoeopathy in context with National priorities and health needs of the community.
(b)practice Homoeopathy ethically and in step with the principles of the system.
(c)develop skills as a self-directed learner, recognise continuing education needs, and select and use appropriate learning resources.
(d)demonstrate competence in basic concepts of research methodology and epidemiology and be able to critically analyse relevant published research literature.
(e)identify social, economic, environmental, biological, and emotional determinants of health in a given case, and take them into account while planning therapeutic, rehabilitative, preventive, and promotive measures or strategies.
(f)diagnose health problems and manage them as per the scope of homeopathy on the basis of clinical assessment, investigations, etc.
(g)demonstrate scientific acumen by undertaking a dissertation or research project using proper research methodology.
(h)play the assigned role in the implementation of national health programmes with homeopathy, effectively and responsibly.
•Eligibility criteria for admission and manner of admission is discussed in the regulation 5.
•Regulation 7 is about the period of training for obtaining a Homoeopathy post-graduate degree in a specialty subject shall be three completed years including the period of examination.
They shall come into force from March 21, 2024.
