The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoC&I) on March 22, 2024, issued the Aluminium and Aluminium Alloy Products (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024, to further amend the Aluminium and Aluminium Alloy Products (Quality Control) Order, 2023.
This shall come into force on March 22, 2024.
The following has been amended namely: -
• It specifies that in paragraph 1, sub-paragraph 2 which states ‘the date of enforcement’ of the Aluminium and Aluminium Alloy Products (Quality Control) Order, 2023, shall be substituted to September 26, 2024, from June 01, 2023.
• In paragraph 2, the proviso second states ‘Provided further that in relation to micro-enterprises, it shall come into force on the expiry of twelve months from the date of publication of this notification’, shall be substituted to “Provided further that nothing in this order shall apply to small enterprises as defined under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 (27 of 2006), until the 26th December 2024”.
• In paragraph 2, the proviso third states ‘Provided also that in relation to small enterprises, it shall come into force on the expiry of nine months from the date of publication of this notification’, shall be substituted to “Provided also that nothing in this order shall apply to micro-enterprises as defined under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 (27 of 2006), until the 26th March 2025”.
