The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) on March 20, 2024, issued the Insecticides (Third Amendment) Rules, 2024, to further amend the Insecticides Rules, 1971.
This shall come into force on March 22, 2024.
The following has been amended namely: -
• In rule 10 (1A) proviso (i), specifies that ‘Provided that all retailers or dealers possessing a valid license without the prescribed qualification as on the date of publication of these rules as amended by The Insecticides (Second Amendment) Rules, 2017 shall be allowed till 31st December, 2023 to comply with the said qualifications’.
• In rule 10 (1A) the date in the proviso shall be substituted with “30th June 2024” from “31st December 2023”.
