Labour ComplianceThe Government of Madhya Pradesh on March 20, 2024, issued a notification regarding the grant of paid holiday during the General Elections to Lok Sabha 2024.

The following has been stated: -

•Election Program 2024 has been released voting will be held in the parliamentary constituencies of the state on April 19, 2024 (Friday), April 26, 2024 (Friday), May 07, 2024 (Tuesday), and May 13, 2024 (Monday).

•According to the provisions of the Representation of Peoples Act 1951, paid leave will be provided for voting to every person employed in any business, profession, industrial undertaking, or any other establishment on polling days during elections and it is mentioned that this instruction will not apply to such electors whose absence may cause any danger or substantial loss in that employment. Under this provision, daily wage/casual workers will also be entitled to leave with wages on polling days.

•In order to provide facilities for voting to all the workers working in business, profession, industrial enterprise, or any other establishment falling in the parliamentary constituencies of Lok Sabha General Election 2024 in the state, their employers, occupiers, and managers are directed to Proper implementation of the above provisions.
