Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (HPPCB) on April 24, 2024, issued a notice regarding the registration of Producers, Importers and Brand Owners (PIBOs) and Plastic Waste Processors (PWPs) on the Centralized Extended Producer responsibility (EPR) Portal for Plastic PackagingOwners (PIBOs) and Plastic Waste Processors (PWPs) on Centralized Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Portal for Plastic Packaging.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that producers, importers, and brand-owners (PIBOs) along with plastic waste processors (PWPs) shall register on the centralized EPR Portal by the CPCB to meet their Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations as per the guidelines.
• It specifies that PIBOs operating in more than two States/UTs shall register with CPCB, while those operating in one or two States/UTs shall register with the respective SPCBs/PCCs.
• It mentions that PIBOs & PWPs has been instructed to promptly submit registration applications on the EPR Portal https://eprplastic.cpcb.gov.in/#/plastic/home, referring to the Guidance Manual and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
