The Government of Rajasthan on April 27, 2024, issued an advisory regarding the protection of the cows and cow sheds from heat along with special instructions to arrange clean water and an adequate amount of fodder.
The following has been stated: -
•Various schemes are being run by the state government for the conservation of cow progeny maintained in the cow shelters operated in the state and grants are also given to them for their operation. These cow shelters are run by voluntary organizations through donors, Bhamashahs, and public cooperation.
•To protect the cattle from the increasing temperature and possible heat waves in the season, the basic needs which include an adequate amount of drinking water, fodder, straw, and other dry food for the cows, shade to protect the cows from heat and heat, etc. Instructions have been issued to cow sheds to make proper arrangements.
•It has been instructed to take proper care of sick, disabled, and pregnant cows and to arrange for medical treatment if necessary. it is very important to dispose of dead cattle carcasses in a safe and respectable manner as soon as possible so that there is no risk of disease due to heat. A letter has also been written to the cow shelters for this.
