The Spice Board on May 02, 2024, notified regarding the Inclusion of the ETO test for Spice consignments exported to Hong Kong & Singapore under the Mandatory Sampling & Testing Programme.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that the Board has mandated ETO testing for spice exports to Singapore and Hong Kong.
• It specifies that the Maximum Residue Limit (MRL) for ETO in spices as per the Singapore Food Agency is 50 ppm, whereas Hong Kong has Zero tolerance for ETO.
• It also states that all Spice consignments, including Ready-to-eat (RTE) products, destined for Singapore and Hong Kong, shall be accompanied by a cleared analytical report for BTO issued by the Spices Board.
This will come into force from May 06, 2024.
