The University Grants Commission (UGC) on May 06, 2024, notified regarding the prohibition of the use of electronic cigarettes in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that the education system shall actively engage in raising awareness about the danger associated with the usage of electronic cigarettes.
• It specifies that the special drives shall be conducted through random checking at HEIs to ensure that such products are not being used.
• It also states that the HEIs shall take all necessary steps in this regard to ensure the success of the initiative.
