Industry Specific ComplianceThe Department of Telecommunication (DoT) on May 02, 2024, issued the Clarification regarding the revision in Spectrum Usage Charges.

The following has been stated:

• USR Licence:

The License shall be granted for 5 years. Spectrum charges are required to be paid for 5 years. The validity period of the Decision Letter (DL) shall be 1 year, no construction period shall be permitted. A Wireless Operating License (WOL) will be issued for 5 years.

• Validity of Decision Letter:

It is clarified that all DLs issued prior to April 01, 2024, will be allowed an extension of their DL up to March 31, 2025, for obtaining the WOL. Thereafter, DL re-validation will not be allowed. The equipment procured under the said DL will be treated as unauthorized and appropriate action will be taken.

• Late Fee:

In case of delayed payments for re-validation of the Decision Letter (wherever applicable) late fee will be applicable as per the order for late payments on date.
