The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on May 09, 2024, notified regarding the Discontinuation of Order Retention Attribute ‘End of Day’.
The following has been stated:
• It has requested the Trading Members to note that the Exchange Trading system accepts orders with the retention attributes as mentioned, in the Equity, Equity Derivatives, Currency Derivatives, Commodity Derivatives and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) segments.
Order Retention Attributes:
o End of Session (Session)
o Immediate or cancel (IOC)
o End of Day (Day)
• Currently, the order(s) with the ‘End of Day’ order retention attribute is valid till the end of trading day. In the Equity segment, during continuous trading sessions, it is valid from 9:15 am to 3:30 pm and in the post-closing session, from 3:40 pm to 4:00 pm. Thus, the segments, under which post-close sessions are conducted, will continue to support the “End of Day” order retention attribute.
• At present, in the Equity Derivatives, Currency Derivatives & Commodity Derivatives segments, the post-closing session is not conducted. Hence, it is proposed to discontinue the order retention attribute “End of Day” from Equity Derivatives, Currency Derivatives & Commodity Derivatives segments.
• The order retention attribute “End of Day” shall continue to be available in Equity and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) segments.
The said change shall be made available from May 10, 2024, in the test environment in Equity Derivatives, Currency Derivatives & Commodity Derivatives segments. Trading members & third-party trading application vendors are requested to undertake necessary system development and test the changes as applicable.
The changes shall be made effective in the live environment from Monday, July 08, 2024.
