The Ministry of Communications on May 10, 2024, notified Use of Low Power and Very Low Power Short Range Radio Frequency Devices (Exemption from Licensing Requirement) Amendment Rules, 2024 to amend the Use of Low Power and Very Low Power Short Range Radio Frequency Devices (Exemption from Licensing Requirement) Rules, 2018.
The following has been stated: -
•In rule 3,
(i) Table VIII shall be omitted.
(ii)In Table-IX, against Sl. No.14, for the entry under column (2), the entry “24.00-24.25 GHz” shall be substituted.
•The Equipment Type Approvals (ETAs) issued for specific models before publication of this Notification shall continue to be valid till the lifetime of such models.
They shall come into force on May 10, 2024.
