The Central Board of Direct Tax (CBDT) on May 13, 2024, issued new functionality in AIS for taxpayers to display the status of the information confirmation process in real-time.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that this new functionality shall increase transparency by displaying information in AIS to the taxpayer.
• It states that the Annual Information Statement (AIS) shall be available to all registered Income Taxpayers through the compliance portal, accessible through the e-filing website - www.incometax.gov.in.
• It specifies that AIS shall now display, whether the taxpayer feedback has been addressed by the Source through partial or full acceptance, prompting correction statement filing if needed.
The following attributes shall be visible to the taxpayer for the status of Feedback confirmation from Source: -
o Whether feedback is shared for confirmation
o Feedback Shared On
o Source Responded On
o Source Response
