The Government of Uttar Pradesh on April 09, 2024, regarding the arrangement of basic needs in view of summer season and heat wave as per the instructions of Uttar Pradesh State Management Authority in the cow shelters established for the protection of destitute cattle in the state.
The following has been stated:
• Special monitoring should be done at every destitute cow shelter and adequate shade should be arranged to protect the cows from sunlight and heat and the shed should be covered with tarpaulin or gunny sack to protect them from the wrath of hot winds.
• Adequate arrangements should be made for adequate quantity of chaff, green fodder and grains etc. at cow shelters and special attention should be paid to the nutrition of destitute cows.
• Arrangements should be made for clean and fresh water for the cows to drink.
• Arrangements for treatment should be made by keeping sick and disabled cows in a safe place with shade.
