The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on May 13, 2024, notified regarding release of imported consignments of Producers of 106 EEEs.
The E-Waste (Management) Rules 2022, effective from April 01, 2023 require Producers of 106 EEEs, as mentioned in Schedule I of the aforesaid rules, to register on the CPCB's E-Waste EPR Portal. The E-Waste EPR portal has been undergoing maintenance and up-gradation since March 20, 2024 and likely to be fully operational in the coming days.
In view of this, it is requested that imported consignments of Producers of 106 EEES items (ITEW1 to ITEW27, CEEW1to CEEW19, LSEEW1 to LSEEW34, EETW1 to EETW8, TLSEW 1 to TLSEW6, MDW1 to MDW10 and LIW1 to LIW2) may be released till June 30, 2024 after taking an undertaking as per the enclosed format along with the proof of submission of the said undertaking to CPCB at the e-mail id '[email protected]'.
The eligible producers as defined in the aforesaid rules (which includes importers), shall submit a copy of the online EPR Registration certificate to the Customs Authority on or before June 30, 2024 in compliance to the undertaking.
