The Government of Uttar Pradesh on May 16, 2024, issued a notification regarding variable dearness allowance payable in 74 scheduled employments under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
The following has been stated: -
•The basic wage and variable dearness allowance shall not be less than 1/26 and the hourly rate shall not be less than 1/6 of the daily rate.
•In pursuance of the above, the All India Consumer Price Index for the employees employed in the following 74 employments has increased from an average of 400 points in the base year for the months of July 2012 to December 2012 to an average point of 386 in the months of April 01, 2024 to September 30, 2024.
•Variable dearness allowance for the period from July 2023, to December 2023.
