Industry Specific ComplianceThe Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) on May 17, 2024, issued the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (Threshold Limit for the Development of Inter-State Transmission Projects under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding) Regulation 2024.

This shall come into force on May 17, 2024.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It states that the commission shall fix the threshold limit of above rupees two hundred and fifty crores excluding land cost for the new Intra-State Transmission (InST) projects to be awarded under TBCB, and it shall be implemented by the bid process coordinators.

• It states that the entire Intra-State Independent Transmission projects including an upstream/downstream project shall be designed as a single project for inviting bids for the development of the project through TBCB.

• It states that if the STU intends to implement any InST above or below the threshold limit, due to some specific reasons such as the project being of a critical nature, the STU shall implement such projects through Tariff based Competitive Bidding with the prior approval of the commission for the same.
