The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) on May 22, 2024, notified Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum & Electricity Ombudsman) (First Amendment) Regulations, 2024 to amend Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum & Electricity Ombudsman) Regulations, 2020.
The following has been stated: -
•In Regulation 3.3 the following shall be substituted:
3.3A Distribution Licensee shall establish one (1) Forum in each distribution Circle falling within its area of supply.
•In Regulation 5 Proviso to Regulation 5.3 of the Principal Regulations stands deleted, and Second and Third Proviso to Regulation 5.4 of the Principal Regulations stands deleted.
•Appendix 1 of the Principal Regulations stands deleted.
They shall come into force from May 22, 2024.
