The Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) on January 09, 2024, notified regarding the Retrofitting of emission control devices/equipment in DG Sets with a capacity of I25KVA and above in the State of Goa.
The following has been stated:
• All the industries and establishments operating DG sets of capacity 125 KVA and above within the jurisdiction of the state of Goa, are hereby directed to:
o Retrofit all operational Diesel Generator (DG) sets of capacity 125 KVA up to 1000 KVA with an Emission Control Device that is powered by engines up to gross mechanical power of 800 KW. The emission control device has to be type-approved as per the CPCB system & procedure, Ref. PCLS/12/2021-22 dated February 01, 2022, for emissions and particulate diagnostics compliance of retrofit emission control devices (RECD) by one of the four Central Pollution Control Board, Govt. of India, recognized /approved laboratories as given below:
o Automotive Research Association of India, Pune (Maharashtra)
o International Centre for Automotive Technology, Manesar (Haryana)
o Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun (Uttarakhand); or
o Vehicle Research Development Establishment, Ahmednagar (Maharashtra)
o This respective RECD-type approval certificate annexure shall mention the engine model of DG being retrofitted as a necessary compliance.
This is to be complied by June 30, 2024, by all stakeholders.
