The Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (MPERC) on May 22, 2024, issued the Draft Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions for determination of Generation Tariff) Regulations, 2024.
The following provisions have been stated:
• Application for determination of Tariff:
o The generating company shall make an application in accordance with these Regulations for the determination of provisional tariff for the new generating station or unit thereof along with all relevant documents and details, 60 days prior to the anticipated date of commercial operation:
Provided that the generating company shall submit a certificate of the auditor indicating the capital cost incurred till date and shall submit details of the projected additional capital expenditure till COD and for respective years of the tariff period 2024-29.
The Commission may consider granting a provisional tariff from the date of commercial operation upon scrutiny of the application filed based on the certificate of the auditor.
• Determination of Tariff:
o The generating company shall file a petition before the Commission as per formats enclosed with these Regulations containing the details of underlying assumptions for the capital expenditure and additional capital expenditure incurred and projected to be incurred, wherever applicable.
The suggestions/comments may be sent to the Commission Secretary, M.P. Electricity Regulatory Commission, 5th Floor, “Metro Plaza”, E-5 Arera Colony, Bittan Market, Bhopal – 462016 so as to reach within 21 days from publication of this notice.
This Notification shall come into force with effect from April 01, 2024, and unless reviewed earlier or extended by the Commission, shall remain in force for a period of five years i.e., up to March 31, 2029.
