EHS ComplianceThe Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on April 30, 2024, notified regarding the transaction of EPR credits by the Producers registered on the EPR Portal for Battery Waste Management.

It is stated that all the Producers are required to engage with the registered Waste Battery Recyclers (information available on National Dashboard) for procurement of EPR certificates generated through the Online EPR portal under Battery Waste Management to ensure that the EPR obligations are fulfilled as per the provision of the Rules.

It has been observed that total metal-wise 197890.38 Tonnes of EPR credits are generated by the Recyclers but only 27580.52 Tonnes of EPR credits have been transferred to the Producers.

In the view of above, all the Producers are required to purchase the EPR credits generated by the Recyclers for fulfilment of their EPR targets to avoid non-compliance with Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022.
