Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) on May 27, 2024, issued guidelines for providing financial assistance for content and broadcast of programmes on various themes of National interest through Community Radio stations.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It aims to encourage CRSs to produce and broadcast content in local languages and dialects, which are of immediate relevance to the community, and to promote the financial sustainability of CRSs.

• It states that any operational Community Radio Station (CRS), shall be eligible for financial support of content already broadcasted during the last 6 (six) months.

• It states that the financial assistance shall be provided for a maximum of 12 episodes in a year per CRS.

• It states that the applicant shall submit an application form in the prescribed proforma given in Annexure-A.

• It specifies that the theme on which the Financial Assistance shall be provided should be among the themes of Women empowerment, Agricultural, Health, Educational, Environmental, Social welfare, Community development, Amrit Kaal, Promotion of Local Art & Cultural, Gender sensitisation, SDG Goals, and Mission Life.
