Commercial ComplianceThe Government of Nagaland on May 15, 2024, notified regarding the mandate for the Fitment of Vehicle Location Tracking Device and one or more panic buttons on the Pubic Service Vehicles.

The following has been stated:

• It has been stated that the public service vehicles shall be fitted with a Vehicles Location Tracking Device and panic button only by the Firms or Original Equipment Manufacturers or by their representatives empanelled by the Government of Nagaland in the State if not already fitted by the original vehicles manufacturers.

• It has stated that the Vehicles Location Tracking Device must be in compliance with the specifications and the Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) as notified by the Central Government or the State Government from time to time and shall be integrated with the Vahan software and the Command & Control Centre managed by the Motor Vehicles Department in the State.

This notification will come into force from May 01, 2024.
