Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Income Tax Department on May 28, 2024, issued a notification regarding the linking of PAN with AADHAAR.

The following has been stated namely: -

• Reference is drawn to CBDT Circular No. 6/2024 dated April 23, 2024 which states “Partial modification regarding consequences of PAN becoming inoperative”

• The PAN must be linked with AADHAAR before May 31, 2024, to avail the benefits of the aforesaid circular

• The requirements to link PAN with AADHAAR are namely: -

o Valid PAN

o AADHAAR Number

o Valid Mobile Number

• The steps to link PAN to AADHAAR are stated in the notification.
