Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on May 31, 2024, issued the Income-tax (Sixth Amendment) Rules, 2024, to further amend the Income-tax Rules, 1962.

This shall come into force on July 01, 2024.

The following has been stated namely: -

• In FORM 27Q, which states – TDS return or Statement that contains information on tax deductions made at the source on payments (except salary) made to non-resident Indians and foreigners, in the Annexure, under the heading “Verification”, in the Notes, after Note No. 7, a new Note “7A” shall be inserted:

o ‘7A. Write “P” if lower deduction or no deduction is in view of notification issued under sub-section (1F) of section 197A.’.
