Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Kerala on May 31, 2024, issued a notification regarding mandatory cleanliness in the schools.

The following has been stated: -

•The Health department has said that cleanliness is mandatory when school opens and Preparatory activities including cleaning and mosquito control should be carried out before the opening of schools. The school and its premises should be cleaned. Classrooms should be opened dusted and cleaned. Weeds and garbage should be removed from the premises.

•It should be ensured that there is no presence of animals like rats, snakes, and bats. If there are mosquito breeding centers, they should be destroyed. Garbage from the terrace, sunshade, etc. should be removed and flushed. It should also be ensured that water does not accumulate in the pot under the plant pots, water coolers, and AC.

•Toilets should be cleaned. It must be ensured that they are proportional to the number of children. Sanitary napkins should be disposed of scientifically. Cleaning of the kitchen and store should be ensured also that the cooks have health cards. Anti-tobacco warning signs should be displayed on school premises. Emergency contact numbers should also be displayed in the school.
