The Government of Haryana on May 30, 2024, issued the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Private Coaching Institutes Act, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that each district shall have an Authority to register and regulate the private coaching institutes.
• It states that every private coaching institute established before the commencement of this Act shall register within three months from the commencement date.
• It states that any person or entity intending to establish a private coaching institute shall apply to the concerned District Authority in a prescribed form and manner with a prescribed fee.
• It states that a private coaching institute with a branch in Haryana shall obtain a separate registration certificate for each branch.
• It states that the tenure of the registration certificate shall be for three years which may be renewed on an application.
• It states that every private coaching institute shall engage at least one full-time counsellor to address the student's mental health and stress-related issues.
• It states that no private coaching institute shall publish any misleading advertisement relating to coaching.
• It states that a private coaching institute shall be liable for a fine of twenty-five thousand rupees for the first violation of the provisions of this act, one lakh rupees for subsequent violations, and if the violation continues, the registration of the private coaching institute shall be cancelled.
