The Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) on May 31, 2024, issued the notification regarding the Implementation of New Enhancements in Existing BBPS APIs.
The following has been stated namely: -
• NPCI Bharat BillPay Limited continuously enhances the functionalities of the existing fetch and payment APIs to expand the scope of Bharat Bill Payment System and to cater to the requirements of the upcoming categories.
• Through this enhancement, additional features like bulk fetch and payment, amount configurations for individual bill level, selection element type, etc. have been incorporated in the BBPS APIs which will help our partners to enhance the bill payment experience for customers in the existing categories such as Loan Repayment, etc. and new categories such as E-Challan, Bulk Electricity payment, Corporate Credit Cards, etc.
• All COUs and AIs are advised to integrate with the API 1.1 enhancement to enable the billers of the aforementioned categories.
• The requisite developments need to be implemented by the COUs/AIs by June 30, 2024.
