The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on June 03, 2024, issued the Bottled Water Dispensers (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
This shall come into force on June 04, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It specifies that the Bottled Water Dispensers IS: 17681:2022, shall conform to the corresponding Indian Standards and bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards.
• It enumerates that the certifying and enforcing authority for the goods or articles shall be The Bureau of Indian Standards.
• It further states that any person found violating the stipulations outlined in this order shall be subject to penalties as prescribed by The Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
• It states the date of implementation for Small Enterprises shall be October 01, 2024.
• It states the date of implementation for Micro Enterprises shall be January 01, 2025.
• It states the date of implementation in General (other than Micro and Small Enterprises) shall be July 01, 2024.
