The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on June 05, 2024, notified regarding the Direction under Section 16(5) of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 regarding the re-operationalisation of Draft FSS (Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Food for Special Dietary Use, Food for Special Medical Purpose and Prebiotic and Probiotic Food) Regulations, 2022.
The following has been stated:
• It has been decided to again re-operationalise the provisions specified in the above-said direction, with effect from January 01, 2024, as the finalization of these draft regulations is likely to take some more time.
• It has been decided to allow the use of additives and GMP Table as per Codex in all categories across various formats, till the final notification of the said regulations.
