The Government of Jharkhand on May 07, 2024, issued the Draft Jharkhand Surface Water Allocation Rules, 2023.
The following has been stated: -
•Rule 2 lays down various definitions of the terms like Unregulated Flow and lean Period.
•Rule 3 mentions about the Surface Water Allocation to industrial /commercial organizations.
•Rule 4 specifies about the Water Allocation for Municipal/ Rural Drinking Water.
•Rule 5 specifies the Water Withdrawal Management.
They shall come into force from the date of publication in the Gazette.
