Commercial ComplianceThe Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on June 06, 2024, notified regarding the enabling provisions for the import of inputs that are subjected to mandatory Quality Control Orders (QCOs) by Advance Authorization holders, EOU, and SEZ.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It is in reference to notification no. – 71/2023, related to the enabling provisions for the import of inputs that are subject to mandatory Quality Control Orders (QCOs) by Advance Authorization holders, EOU and SEZ, dated March 11, 2024, shall be governed by the provisions as existed at the time of issuance of those AA.

• The revised policy of para 2.30(A) (i) (g) states "The Export Obligation period for such authorization shall be as per 4.40 of Handbook of Procedures. However, the EO period is restricted to 180 days from the date of clearance of import consignments in respect of QCO exemption for textile and chemical Products, notified by the Ministry of Textiles and Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals (DCPC) respectively".
