The Government of Gujarat on June 06, 2024, issued the Certificate Courses to Professional Diploma Courses (Regulation of Admission and Payment of Fees) (*Amendment) Rules, 2024, to further amend the Certificate Courses to Professional Diploma Courses (Regulation of Admission and Payment of Fees) Rules, 2020.
The following amendment has been stated:
• For rule 6, which states “Name of Corresponding Eligible Diploma Course in which admission may be granted”, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:
o "6. Name of Eligible Diploma Courses in which admission may be granted - Subject to the fulfilment of eligibility criteria and such other conditions as prescribed under these rules, a candidate, who has passed the qualifying examination, as mentioned in column No. 1 (1) of column No. (2) of the Schedule, shall be eligible for admission to any Professional Diploma course whose nomenclature is approved by the AICTE. The admission to the Diploma course whose nomenclature is approved by the Council of Architecture (COA), shall be subject to the Lateral Entry related norms published by the Council of Architecture (COA) from time to time."
• In rule 11, which states “Preparation of Merit List”, for sub-rule (3), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:
o "(3) Common merit list of All Certificate Courses specified in column No. (1) and (2) of the Schedule for any Professional Diploma Course whose nomenclature approved by AICTE, shall be prepared. The admission to the Diploma course whose nomenclature is approved by the Council of Architecture (COA), shall be subject to the Lateral Entry related Norms published by the Council of Architecture (COA) from time to time."
This notification will come into force from June 06, 2024.
