CBIC amended the notification regarding the rate of exchange of foreign currency equivalent to Indian rupees

Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on June 06, 2024, issued the amendment to Notification No. 36/2024-Customs(N.T.), dated May 16, 2024 regarding the “Rate of exchange of foreign currency equivalent to Indian rupees”

The following has been stated namely: -

• Schedule-I which states “Rate of exchange of one unit of foreign currency equivalent to Indian rupees” have amended the following countries namely: -

o Australian Dollar – 56.85 (Imported Goods); 54.40 (Export Goods)

o Bahraini Dinar – 230.00 (Imported Goods); 213.30 (Export Goods)

o Canadian Dollar – 62.00 (Imported Goods); 60.05 (Export Goods)

o Chinese Yuan – 11.70 (Imported Goods); 11.30 (Export Goods)

• Schedule-II which states “Rate of exchange of 100 units of foreign currency equivalent to Indian rupees” have amended the following countries namely: -

o Japanese Yen – 54.45 (Imported Goods); 52.80 (Export Goods)

o Korean Won – 6.30 (Imported Goods); 5.95 (Export Goods)
