The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoAFW) on June 07, 2024, issued the Honey Grading and Marking Rules, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The rules shall apply to the following types of Honey intended for human consumption, namely: -
o Blossom Honey or Nectar Honey
o Carvia Callosa Honey
o Honeydew Honey
• The Honey shall be packed in packaging material in accordance with the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards (Packaging) Regulations, 2018 and the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules
• Schedule - I which states “Design of Agmark Insignia” has been stated in the notification
• Schedule – II which states “Grade designation and quality of honey” has been stated in the notification.
This shall come into force on June 07, 2024.
