Commercial Compliance The Government of Karnataka on June 10, 2024, issued the Karnataka Stamp (Amendment) Act, 2024, to further amend the Karnataka Stamp Act, 1957.

The following amendment has been stated:

• In section 10A, which states “Payment of stamp duty by cash in certain cases”, in sub-section (1), the words “or by demand draft or by pay order drawn on a branch of any scheduled bank” and the words “or upon production of demand draft or pay order as the case may be” shall be omitted.

This notification will come into force at once.
