The Government of Kerala on June 05, 2024, issued the Kerala Municipality (Second Amendment) Bill, 2024, to further amend the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994.
The following has been amended in Section 6 – “Constitution of Council” namely: -
• Section 6 (3)(a), in sub-clause (i), the words "twenty five", shall be substituted with the words "twenty six".
• Section 6 (3)(a), in sub-clause (ii), the words "twenty five", shall be substituted with the words "twenty six", and the words "fifty two", shall be substituted with the words "fifty three".
• Section 6 (3)(b), in sub-clause (i), the words "fifty five", shall be substituted with the words "fifty six".
• Section 6 (3)(b), in sub-clause (ii), the words "fifty five", shall be substituted with the words "fifty six" and the words "one hundred", shall be substituted with the words "one hundred and one".
