The Government of Karnataka on June 10, 2024, issued the Karavali Development Board Act, 2023.
The following has been stated namely: -
• This Act extends to the whole of the Karavali area
• The objects of the board shall be: -
o To promote the development and conservation of water resources in the Karavali Area
o To adopt soil and water conservation measures in rainfed agriculture systems of the Karavali Area
o To promote the development of forests in the Karavali Area
• After the commencement of this Act, a Board shall be established for the Karavali Area to be called the Karavali Development Board, with Head Quarters at Mangaluru.
• The Chairperson and other members appointed by the Government shall hold office for a period of three years
• The Board shall meet at least once every three months
This shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint.
