The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) on June 12, 2024, issued an advisory to all Private Satellite TV channels to refrain from showing live coverage of anti-terrorist operations by security forces.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that during the ongoing anti-terrorist operations in Kathua & Doda Districts of Jammu, no programme shall be carried out in the cable service which contains live coverage of anti-terrorist operations by security forces in the interest of national security and to safeguard innocent lives.
• It states that media coverage shall be restricted to periodic briefing by an officer designated by the government, till such operation concludes.
