The Government of Rajasthan on June 20, 2024, issued a notification regarding the arrangement of randomized/faceless management of the works of the Excise Department.
The following has been stated: -
•It has been announced that to ensure better adherence to the principle of clean and transparent administration, work in the commercial tax and excise departments will be carried out in a phased manner.
•Arrangements for faceless management will be made. Similarly, in point number 9.3 of the Excise and Alcohol Restraint Policy for the year 2024-25, a provision has been made to make randomized administrative arrangements for an inspection of the premises of licensees to prevent illegal liquor.
•Given the implementation of the provisions made in the budget announcement for the year 2024-25 and the excise and alcohol restraint policy for the year 2024-25, the faceless/ randomized system of inspection in the Excise Department will be implemented in a phased manner. At present inspection in the Excise Department is mainly done in two ways.
•In the first phase, the work of inspection of the premises of the applicants under the Excise Department will be done by the selected inspecting officer/inspector through a computer-based system.
