Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Goa on June 20, 2024, issued the Goa (Prevention of Illegal Mining, Storage and Transportation of Minerals) (Sixth Amendment) Rules, 2024 to further amend the Goa (Prevention of Illegal Mining, Storage and Transportation of Minerals) Rules, 2013.

The following amendments have been stated:

• In rule 2, in sub-rule (1), after clause (ze), the following clause shall be inserted, namely: —

(Zee) ‘State license’: means a license issued by the Authorized Officer to any person, Firm or Company who wishes to engage in trading activity, import, export, storage or otherwise deal with any mineral in the State under rule 45 of the Mineral Conservation and Development Rules, 2017.

• After rule 6, rule 6A - Granting of State License has been inserted.
