Industry Specific ComplianceThe Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JSERC) on June 13, 2024, issued the JSERC (Rooftop Solar PV Grid Interactive System and Net/Gross Metering) (Fourth Amendment) Regulations, 2024, to further amend the JSERC (Rooftop Solar PV Grid Interactive System and Net/Gross Metering) Regulation, 2015.

The following amendments have been stated:

• In Chapter A7, which states “Procedure for Application and Registration”, in clause 7.3a, a new proviso shall be inserted as below:

o 7.3 In order of priority, the Distribution Licensee shall complete the feasibility analysis for connecting the rooftop solar PV system to the distribution system within fifteen (15) days from the date of receipt of the application. The feasibility shall be valid for a period of 1 month unless extended by the Distribution Licensee. Provided that if the Distribution Licensee determines that an interconnection study is necessary, the Distribution Licensee shall intimate feasibility or otherwise within thirty (30) days from the receipt of the completed application.

Provided that the applications for rooftop solar photo voltaic systems up to 10 kW capacity, complete in all respects shall be deemed to have been accepted without requiring a technical feasibility study and any commensurate enhancement of the sanctioned load of the consumer, as may be required, shall be carried out by the distribution licensee.

This notification will come into force from June 13, 2024.
