The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJ&E) on June 24, 2024, issued the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2024, to further amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017.
The following amendment has been stated:
• In rule 15, which states “Rules for Accessibility”, in sub-rule (1), after clause (m), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:
“(n) Accessibility Code for Educational Institutions as specified, in the notification of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India vide notification number F. No. 9-4/2022-IS.18 dated January 10, 2024”.
This notification will come into force from June 24, 2024.
