The Directorate of Mines & Geology Goa on June 21, 2024, issued the Goa (Prevention of Illegal Mining, Storage and Transportation of Minerals) (Sixth Amendment) Rules, 2024, to further amend the Goa (Prevention of Illegal Mining, Storage and Transportation of Minerals) Rules, 2013.
This shall come into force on June 27, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• In rule 11 – “Sale/Export of Mineral”, after the words “the Director”, the expression “or Deputy Director of Mines or Senior Geologist or Geologist” shall be inserted.
• In rule 12 – “Import of Mineral”, sub-rule (2), the expressions, “the Director” and “the Director (of Mines & Geology)”, whenever they occur, shall be substituted with the expression “the Director of the Directorate of Mines & Geology or Deputy Director of Mines or Senior Geologist or Geologist”.
• In rule 12 - “Import of Mineral”, sub-rule (3), the expression “Director (Mines & Geology)”, shall be substituted with the expression “the Director of the Directorate of Mines & Geology or Deputy Director of Mines or Senior Geologist or Geologist”.
